Authentic early model Ford convertibles are getting harder and harder to find, and the 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible is no exception. This 40 Ford features a 239ci Flathead engine, which is backed by a re-built “easy shift” 3 speed manual transmission. This Ford rides and drives great and has a smooth purr from the flathead as it cruises down the road. The body is all steel and very clean, with no signs of rust or damage. The base/clear paint is a striking Vermillon red and is in great condition, showing a deep mirror like finish. Car has a clean white convertible top which accents the paint very nicely. Inside this car shows nicely with a all original look(besides the in dash radio) that includes a crème interior with a “floating edge” vinyl seat which has been replaced . All gauges and gauge faces are in good condition. Another upgrade is the 12 Volt charging system, which provides more reliability. In addition to the mechanically sound power train, the drivetrain is smooth with no vibration, and the car brakes as it should. Front and rear of the vehicle have updated stock suspension parts.
